THE PLOT:
Reporters search for a rare butterfly that should not exist in Japan. But when two investigators are killed, more arrive
to investigate the deaths.
They discover a small village worshiping a God that turns out to be a little known form of dinosaur called the Varan.
When they decide to kill Varan, it escapes and makes a beeline to Tokyo.
ZEDD'S OPINION:
There's two forms of this movie, the orignal Japanese version (which is the one I'm reviewing) then there's the version where
they did a GODZILLA and reshot more then half of the movie with American actors. I advice this version, even if it's only
subtitled, it's still better. I give this version of VARAN THE UNBELIEVABLE...8 STARS

VOLTRON'S OPINION:
I agree with Zedd that this version is much better then the damaged version. I do wish they had a dubbed version, I prefer
dubbed to subtitled as you may already know. Anyway, I give this version 7 STARS

ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (- HITS):
+ VARAN (Varan or Baran as the case may be, was pretty damn cool)
+ EFFECTS (Considering the time, it was better then even KING KONG VS. GODZILLA was came out the year after this.)
+ STORY (The story works)
+ CAST (The human cast were for the most part likable)
+ JAPANESE VERSON ON DVD (I liked seeing the version Japan made before American mucked around with it)
ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):
- NO DUBBED VERSION (We both would have liked to seen a dubbed version of the orignal version)
AND FINALLY....
- NOT FOR EVERYONE (If you aren't big on giant monster movies, then this isn't for you.
