THE PLOT:
The world is confronted by strange multi-colored aliens which call themselves the Mysterians. They claim to come in peace,
but under conditions and those conditions are as follows, they demand three kilometres of land and five Earth women or this
means war.
When Earth returns the glove slap of challenge, they unleash remote control monsters called Mogera onto the Earth and
it may seem that 3 kilometres may turn into the entire Earth.
ZEDD'S OPINION:
I am a big Ishiro Honda fan, may be rest in piece and the Mysterians show you why. Mogera is a great monster, a little on
the bulky side. But still a cool robot monster. The only thing I don't get is what's up with the big multi-colored helmet.
Did they need them to breath or what? Plus, what's the multi-colors for, is a sign of rank or what? But the story is sound
but does drag on at points. What I respect more then anything else about Japanese especially about Japanese filmmakers like
Ishiro Honda is the attention to detail they place in a film. I mean, the Mysterian ship has detailed blueprints, I doubt
many other filmmakers around the world go to that much trouble. I always say no matter how much a movie doesn't work, I respect
when they try their best. The Mysterians do more then just try, they succeed in many parts of the story and effects. A must
have for Ishiro Honda fans and 7 big STARS.

VOLTRON'S OPINION:
I agree with Zedd on this. Ishiro Honda is a great director, but not flawless and not without fault. I don't mean to speak
ill of the dead. But I was just a tad disappoint with his efforts on this one. It was more justa tad draggy at points it
bordered on boring. But it has many good quailities and I give THE MYSTERIANS, 5 STARS.

ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (- HITS):
+ MOGERA (That's one cool monster.)
+ STORY (The story really works well.)
+ ACTING (The acting from the Japanese cast was well done.)
+ DUBBING (I think the voice over dubbing cast also does fine work.)
+ DETAIL (The attention to detail is wonderful.)
+ EFFECTS (The effects are great considering the time peroid.)
ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):
- MULTI-COLORED HELMETS (What were they for? Breathing, ranks, what?)
- BULKY (Mogera was on the bulky side.)
- SLOW (It has some large lulls in it.)
...AND FINALLY....
- FAN BASED (If you aren't a big fan of Ishiro Honda, then this isn't the movie for you.)
