THE PLOT:
A small town in Texas is being terrorized by a giant mutated Gila Monster. It starts with the disapperence of two teenagers,
the Father of the girl wants the Sheriff to find them and arrest the boy for taiting his girl. But the truth is far more
horific then anyone can imagine.
Now the boy's best friend, a mechanic helps the sheiff sniff out the facts behind the disappearences and flush out the
giant lizard on the loose.
ZEDD'S OPINION:
Okay, let's not that this has to one of the corniest movies that I reviewed yet. But it's not all bad news, I got to admit
it is watchable, the miniature sets with the normal size gila monster was to the right scale. I am disappointed that they
decided to use a real animal for the creature effects. Plus, what's with the leg up? Every chance they get they place a leg
up on something. Is it a Texas thing or what? I don't understand it and this Mister Wheeler who thinks he owns the Sheriff
just because he's rich. The story is unique and interesting, even though they don't quite mention how the gila monster got
so huge to begin with. But as a whole it is one the better b-monster flicks came up with in the fifties and the most fun to
watch and quip your way through. 6 STARS.

VOLTRON'S OPINION:
Okay, I got to agree that this is one of the best b-movies of the decade, which is sad. But it doesn't hold a candle to great
monster movies like THEM! and CREATURE OF THE BLACK LAGOON. Those a true classics, this barely passible to watch when there
isn't anything else on. But I do agree with the model work, it was the right size without over doing it. The perfect scale.
4 STARS.

ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (- HITS):
+ MODELS (The models are just perfect for this movie.)
+ STORY (The story works.)
+ ACTING (The acting was pretty good considering what they were working with.)
ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):
- LIVING ANIMAL (I really wished they didn't use a real animal.)
- MISTER WHEELER (That guy chaps my hyde.)
- LEG UP (What's with the leg up?)
- HOW (They never really explained how the beastie got so darn big.)
...AND FINALLY....
FAN BASED (If you aren't a big fan of giant monster movies, then this isn't for you.)
